Lemon Dill Bulgur Salad with Chickpeas, Cucumber and Feta Cheese

I enjoy a good salad as much as the next person, but I need it to include protein to keep me satisfied and help me avoid snacking ten times before dinner. So, to create a delicious, protein-packed, spring-inspired lunch, I used Hodgson Mill Bulgur Wheat as the basis of my salad. In case you weren’t sure, bulgur wheat is whole wheat that’s been precooked (steamed) then dried and cracked. Hodgson Mill’s version helps give these whole grains a hearty 10 grams of protein per serving. Read More »

Need a go-to healthy gluten free entree that’s easy enough for a weeknight dinner, but definitely fancy enough for casual entertaining? I’ve got you covered with this Gluten-Free Linguine with Artichokes, Tomatoes and Arugula. What’s even more brilliant is that this entree comes together in about half an hour and all but one ingredient (the arugula) come in jars and boxes you can keep in a cupboard to pull out at a moment’s notice. This is definitely food love! Read More »

Pear Buckwheat Pancakes with Honey Ricotta and Ginger

Nothing says hearty breakfast like buckwheat pancakes packed with satisfying protein, fiber and nutrients. Buckwheat is actually a fruit seed, not a cereal grain (who knew?). Besides having a delicious, earthy, wholesome taste, it contains nutrients that can help regulate blood sugar and reduce the risk of diabetes, and can also promote cardiovascular health, actually strengthening capillary walls. It also has tons of minerals and antioxidants. In short, it’s packed with good stuff, and all the good stuff finds its way, along with real whole wheat flour, into Hodgson Mill Buckwheat Pancake Mix.  Read More »

Savory Sweet Potato and Cannelini Bean Pie with Whole Wheat Olive Oil Crust

I’ve been experimenting. My philosophy is, start with good ingredients that you love, and whatever you make can’t be all bad. (Within reason: I’m not advocating for shrimp in chocolate sauce or anything.) But how about sweet potatoes, with rosemary and goat cheese? Sign me up. I knew I was getting close to something great with this pie when one of my taste testers said, “Oh, wow. I could eat this several times a day.” Whoohoo! Read More »

End of Summer Zucchini Cilantro with Whole Wheat Angel Hair Pasta

This is one of the quickest recipes I’ve ever made. Just seven ingredients, half of which can be found at the farm stand (zucchini, cilantro, shallots, and cherry tomatoes), and it will be on the table in under 30 minutes, with only 10 minutes of stove time. Read More »

Quick Sesame Veggie Noodles with Pan-Fried Tofu

This salad starts with wholesome al dente Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Spaghetti or Hodgson Mill Gluten-Free Spaghetti combined with crunchy slivers of chopped cabbage and carrots, crisp chunks of snow pea pods, green onions, fresh cilantro, and sesame seeds. Hodgson Mill Easy Crunchy Cinnamon Wheat Germ Granola

Back in December I shared my favorite Hodgson Mill winter breakfast, Blueberry Swirl Multi-Grain Hot Cereal with Milled Flaxseed and Soy, that I eat when the weather is cold and I need a hot, healthy start to my day. Well, now that the sun is warming things up and the windows are open, it’s time to switch over to my favorite summer breakfast- a creamy bowl of yogurt topped with a drizzle of honey, a handful of raspberries or strawberries and a generous scoop of the best granola ever- Hodgson Mill Crunchy Cinnamon Wheat Germ Granola. Read More »

Rise and Shine Tropical Multigrain Muffins

I had the best muffin a few weeks ago– a lifesaving muffin. I was on a road trip, driving through Michigan, and having a really hard time finding quick road food that was not covered in cheese, or deep-fried, or both. I stopped at a little diner and the sign at the front advertised “Rise and Shine Bran Muffins” packed with pineapple chunks, apples and raisins, and it was like someone turned on the sun in the middle of the night. Night and day, muffin, you are the one . . . . Now that it’s getting even darker and colder outside, I’ve been thinking about this muffin. And a tropical beach. But I digress…. I thought, ‘I can make that muffin! I’ll focus on the tropical flavors, and add a little texture with Hodgson Mill Multi Grain Cereal with Flaxseed and Soy.’ Read More »
