Lightly Carmeled Bran Cake



Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan

Combine water and bran.  Let stand 2-3 minutes while creaming the margarine and sugar.  Add egg whites and vanilla to bran mixture.   Beat well.  Add flour, cinnamon, soda and salt.  Mix well.  Pour into prepared pan .  Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.


Combine topping ingredients and spread on hot cake.


Broil until bubbly (about 2-3 minutes).
