Try something a little different in your kitchen



Prepare the crust:

Combine flours, cinnamon, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Blend butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add vodka and water 1 tablespoon at a time until the dough holds together. Divide into 6 equal pieces and chill about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the apple filling by melting butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add sugar and cinnamon. Stir until well blended. Add apples and stir to coat. Cook apples for 5-10 minutes or until tender.

Preheat oven to 350°. Place parchment paper on baking sheet. Roll each piece of dough into a circle and place on parchment lined sheet. Using a slotted spoon, distribute the apple mixture into the middle of each circle. Gather the edges of the dough and fold and press it around the filling. Drizzle with the excess syrup if desired.

Bake for 35 minutes until the crust is golden.
