Southern Style Hush Puppies

Fish fry or just a tasty side dish these hush puppies will be a hit with family and friends.



Preheat frying oil to 375ºF.  

Combine dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.  Blend well.  Add onions, egg, water, and buttermilk.  Stir just until moistened.  Let dough sit for 5 minutes before using. 

Drop by rounded tsp. into hot oil and fry until dark golden brown (approximately 1-1/2 to 2 minutes), turning once.  Drain on paper towels.
