Old Fashioned Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 8 oz. box Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Lasagna, could use Hodgson Mill Gluten Free Brown Rice Lasagna
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp parsley, flakes
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups tomatoes
  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 2 12 oz. cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp parsley, flakes
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. mozzarella cheese

Directions

Brown meat slowly; add next 6 ingredients to meat.  Simmer uncovered about 1 hour.  Cook lasagna noodles according to cooking instructions.  For lasagna- Combine cottage cheese with next 5 ingredients.  Place ½ noodles in 13x9x2 inch baking dish; spread ½ cheese mixture over noodles, add ½ Mozzarella cheese and ½ meat mixture.  Repeat layers.  Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes (maybe less time if using gluten free lasagna).  Serves 6 to 8.
