Chocolate Chunk Cookies

1 pkg. HODGSON MILL OAT BRAN HOT CEREAL
1 c HODGSON MILL UNBLEACHED WHITE FLOUR
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c diet butter
3/4 c light corn syrup
3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 large egg whites
1 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chunks (or chocolate morsels)

Blend oat bran cereal with flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Cream together butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla and egg whites. Blend creamed mixture with oat bran mixture. Mix in chocolate chunks. Chill for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a cookie sheet with no stick cooking spray.

Drop cookie mixture by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. Cookies will be lightly browned and firm to touch. Allow to sit for 1 minute before carefully removing from cookie sheet.

Makes 40 cookies. Each cookie: 104 calories: less than 1 g. dietary fiber, 16 g. carbohydrates; 1 g. protein; 4 g. fat; <1 g. saturated fat; 0 mg. cholesterol; 106 mg. sodium.
