Whole Wheat Pie Crust
1 cup HODGSON MILL WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY FLOUR
1 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup cold water
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine the Pastry Flour and baking powder with firm butter until crumbly. Blend in water beating about 15 strokes, adding additional water 1Tbsp at a time if needed. Turn onto floured surface and knead 5 times. Roll dough out thin about 2 inches larger than a 9-inch pie pan. Place dough in pie pan and flute edges if desired. Prick dough numerous times on bottom and along the side with a fork. Bake until light brown, about 8-10 minutes. (Oven times may vary). Cool.
Makes 1 pie crust. Each crust: 545 calories; 12 g dietary fiber; 89 g carbohydrates; 12 protein; 16 fat (7 g saturated fat); 31 mg cholesterol; 547 mg sodium.
