DCW Deep Fried Pickles
1 box 12 oz Don’s Chuck Wagon Onion Ring Mix
1/2 gal whole dill pickles of choice
1 1/4c water (adjust to desired consistency)
Peanut or vegetable oil
Frying methods are optional but oil temperature is critical. If using a turkey fryer, fill with choice of oil to designated line and heat to 350°-400°. Drain pickles and cut into spears or into round slices. Empty contents of Don’s Chuck Wagon Onion Ring Mix into a bowl and add water. Add additional water if batter appears too thick. Drop pickles in batter to coat and place in fryer for 2-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towel. For best results, fry in small quantities to maintain even oil temperature and to prevent sogginess.
Quantities may vary depending on size of pickles selected.
