Preheat oven to 450°F. Cut shortening or butter into flour, baking powder and salt until particles are fine. Stir in milk until flour is moistened and dough forms. Knead lightly on floured surface about 10 times. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a 2-inch round cutter. Place close together on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Yield: 10 to 12 two-inch biscuits.
